Our Story: The Journey to Authentic African Flavours
Built from longing. Driven by love.
When my family relocated to Canada, I air-freighted 151kg of Nigerian food—prioritizing our flavourful heritage over clothing. Excessive? Maybe. But when it ran out, my children rejected local options; their taste buds knew the difference.
We turned to African stores—far, pricey, and never quite fresh. I searched for corn to make Ogi for my little ones, but all I found were pest-ridden bags or GMO options drowned in preservatives. It broke my heart.
For months, I kept thinking: someone needs to fix this. Then I realized—that someone is me.
I founded Poshy Foods to bring authentic, preservative-free African staples to families like mine. Today, we partner with smallholder farmers across West Africa to craft clean-label products that honour our traditions and nourish modern kitchens.
But we're just getting started.
More beloved African and Nigerian products—from spice blends to heritage flours—are on the way. We're building a bold pipeline to keep the taste of home alive for the diaspora, while welcoming curious food lovers everywhere to discover the richness of our flavours. You'll find us online, in ethnic shops, and soon—on shelves at major supermarkets across North America.
Because everyone deserves a taste of home—even far away from home.
